Every itinerary begins with a conversation. We take the time to understand how you travel, what you have already seen, and what you are hoping to find. Then we build from scratch — no packages, no set routes, nothing pre-made. The trip we design for you will not be designed for anyone else.

Africa is where we are from and where we choose to stay. Shaun and Ings have spent most of their lives not visiting this continent but living in it — and that distinction matters when it comes to designing a journey that goes somewhere real.

What Africa Means to us

Shaun grew up in Durban, South Africa and spent his childhood holidays exploring Southern Africa’s wild spaces. Now he shares those life-changing experiences with others, by creating unforgettable safaris in the same iconic spots. He lives in Cape Town with his wife, Cristina and two children Aly and Mario.

Ingrid, fondly known as “Ings”, started her career in tourism in 2003 and hasn’t looked back. Her love of travel shines in every trip she carefully curates for her guests, ensuring that each and every lodge, hotel or camp is carefully handpicked according to their personal needs. Having travelled all over Southern and East Africa, she has a wealth of knowledge which she is always eager to share and does so with a smile. When Ings is not curating the perfect holiday for her guests, she can be found horse riding, baking cookies, or spending wholesome days with her family.

Ingrid Martheze Director of African Safaris

Cam grew up between South Africa and the United Kingdom, exploring many of Africa’s beautiful countries on family holidays as a child. Her family moved back to the UK permanently in her teenage years, where she completed her education and started a successful career as an editorial food stylist, travelling all over the world and working with a number of publications, brands and celebrity chefs. Her South African childhood had left an indelible impression on her though, and so in 2019, she decided to move back. After some time away from work, she needed a new creative challenge and found herself at Stanley Safaris. She works as a concierge and food specialist, working with our guests to create unique and memorable food focused experiences.

Nadia is originally from Johannesburg but now lives in Cape Town with her husband and three children. She has over a decade of experience in the travel industry and loves sharing the joy of travelling with others. She handles all concierge-related tasks and also assists in the admin department.

Emile’s love of the African bush began at an early age during family holidays exploring South Africa. But it was during his career as a professional golfer, when he was privileged to travel extensively across America and Europe, that Emile truly began to appreciate Africa’s unique charm. Despite seeing much of the world through golf, Africa’s vast landscapes, vibrant cultures, and unparalleled wildlife had left an indelible mark on him. Emile’s safari dream is to one day experience the unique waterways and abundant wildlife of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. His deep-seated love of Africa’s wild heart fuels him in creating captivating visuals that showcase Stanley Safaris' itineraries and inspire an appreciation for this remarkable continent.

His role is part sales, part storytelling and ultimately helping partners bring the magic of Africa to life through experiences that inspire, transform, and delight. Whether it’s a game drive at dawn or a meaningful collaboration between brands, he's passionate about building connections between people, cultures, and the extraordinary experiences that bring them together.
