Luxury Botswana Safari
Days 1, 2 and 3 – Jack’s Camp, Makgadikgadi Pans
You will be met at Maun Airport for the start of your luxury safari to Botswana, and assisted with your onward flight direct to Jack’s Camp in the Makgadikgadi Pans. Jack’s Camp is one of the most luxurious safari camps in Botswana and is situated on the edge of the vast Makgadikgadi Pans. The Makgadikgadi Pans are a vast open expanse of salt pans stretching as far as the eye can see and it is here that guests really experience something unique.
Jack’s Camp is one of the only places in Africa that have habituated meerkats that often use guests as look-out posts. Due the fact there are so few trees in the area, the meerkats need a higher vantage point to keep an eye out for predators, so often climb onto the heads or shoulders of guests to scan the landscape for potential threats. Guests get to spend a couple of hours with the meerkat family as they emerge from their burrows in the mornings and start foraging for insects, grubs and scorpions. Spending time with the family of meerkats is an amazing experience as you become part of the troop.
Other highlights of your safari to Jack’s Camp include quad biking out onto the salt pans, sleeping out under the stars and with no light pollution, this is one of the best places in the world to do this. Jack’s Camp is one of the best places to spend time with a family of San Bushmen. Guests have the opportunity to go on a walk with the bushmen to learn more about their culture and way of life.
The private concession of Jack’s Camp is home to lion, cheetah, brown hyena, zebra, wildebeest and springbok.
