Luxury South Africa Safari

Days 1, 2 and 3 - Lion Sands Ivory Lodge, Sabi Sands

You will fly into Skukuza Airport for the start of your luxury safari to South Africa. You will be met and transferred through to the Sabi Sands, one of the best places in Africa to see the Big 5. Lion Sands Ivory Lodge is one of the most luxurious safari lodges in South Africa with massive villas each with a separate lounge and bedroom with an expansive deck complete with private plunge pool overlooking the African bush.

Lion Sands is a private reserve within the Sabi Sands, all sharing unfenced borders with the Kruger National park, meaning the animals can move freely between these areas. The mixed habitats of the Sabi Sands means there is a variety of animals that guests come to see. These include lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, rhino, giraffe, zebra and so much more. Enjoy morning, afternoon and night game drives as well as walking safaris.

This is the perfect start to your luxury safari to South Africa.

Days 4, 5 and 6 - Tswalu Private Game Reserve

From Lion Sands Ivory Lodge you fly to Johannesburg and connect with a flight to one of the largest privately owned game reserves in Africa, Tswalu. Situated in the arid Kalahari Desert, Tswalu is a success story where conservation efforts are working. Originally a desolate arid region, void of any wildlife, Tswalu turned things around by introducing game like rhino, lion, cheetah, wild dog and general game. With over 130,000 Hectares to explore, you are guaranteed peace, solitude and privacy whilst on your game drives, bush walks or horse-riding safaris. Tswalu is one of the best places in Africa to see some of the more elusive desert adapted animals like aardvark, meerkats and pangolins. They have a habituated colony of meerkats that guests can see in the mornings as they start to forage through the dunes of the Kalahari. A must do experience at Tswalu is their desert sleepout. Spending the night under a million stars and waking to your own private Kalahari sunrise is priceless and something you will remember as a highlight of your African safari. Completely different to the Sabi Sands, this is a true wilderness experience of expansive open grasslands, sand dunes and animals that have adapted to living in these harsh conditions.
