Beach extensions to Malawi

Malawi is a landlocked country that is dominated by the third largest lake in Africa which forms the eastern border with Mozambique. Surrounded by some of the best safari counties in Africa, Malawi cannot compete with them on the wildlife front (although that is changing), but what Malawi can do is offer one of the most unlikely beach destinations in Africa.

Lake Malawi’s crystal clear fresh water laps golden beaches and rocky coves along its entire coastline, yet there are just a handful of small, intimate beach lodges for guests to chose from, often on remote islands in the lake. It is these beach lodges that make the perfect end to a safari in Zambia.

Spend your days relaxing on the beach, kayaking to secluded coves and beaches or even snorkeling and diving in the clear waters. Lake Malawi is a very rewarding dive and snorkeling destination because of the wide variety of color cichlid fish endemic to the lake.

Often referred to as the warm heart of Africa, the people of Malawi are renowned as some of the friendliest people in Africa. Their wide grins and slow pace of life are infectious and make guests feel right at home.
